INiGO intends to assist visitors with way-finding on the University of British Columbia campus. INiGO provides indoor mapping and points of interest for various UBC buildings; the MacLeod and Fred Kaiser buildings are currently supported. Users can use the app to locate specific rooms, labs and offices within a supported building, and find out more information on points of interest via web links. Assisted GPS technology and Wi-Fi are used to provide indoor positioning so the user can locate their position outdoors and inside supported buildings.
The objective of this app is to help visitors, students and faculty navigate their way around UBC while discovering point of interests inside buildings with an intuitive user interface. An offline, searchable directory allows users to access building information and point of interest information quickly.
